Before you frame a shot, pause and ask where the light originates. Window, sun, lamp, or screen glow all count. Light direction shapes every photo more than fancy filters. Turn your subject slowly and watch shadows move across it. Shadows are clues pointing back to the source. Photographers chase good light the way chefs chase fresh ingredients. No light, no photo. Bad angle of light, muddy photo.
