THREE NATIONS, ONE TOURNAMENT

WHY THREE HOSTS?
Every World Cup needs stadiums, airports, hotels, and millions of fans. World Cup 2026 is the biggest tournament ever, with 48 teams and 104 matches. One country alone would struggle to host all of that. So for the first time in history, three nations share the job: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Together they form a united North American World Cup. Each country brings its own football culture, food, music, and passion. Mexico has hosted twice before. The USA hosted in 1994. Canada is hosting a men's World Cup for the first time. Fans can follow the action across an entire continent, from sunny Mexico City to the Great Lakes to the East Coast. Three flags, one dream: crown the best team on Earth.
⚡ DID YOU KNOW?
South Korea and Japan co-hosted in 2002, but World Cup 2026 is the first time three countries share hosting duties for one tournament.

MEXICO: WHERE FOOTBALL LIVES
Mexico breathes football. Three cities host matches: Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. The star is Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, one of the most famous stadiums on Earth. It hosted the 1970 and 1986 World Cup finals, where Pelé and Maradona wrote legend. Azteca sits over seven thousand feet above sea level, thin air and roaring crowds making life tough for visiting teams. Mexican fans sing, wave flags, and turn every match into a party. Guadalajara brings the heart of western Mexico, while Monterrey offers a fierce northern football culture. Mexico also hosts the opening match of the tournament, kicking off the biggest World Cup ever on home soil. For Mexican players and fans, this is a chance to welcome the world back to the country that helped define World Cup magic.
⚡ AZTECA LEGEND
Estadio Azteca will become the first stadium to host World Cup matches at three different tournaments: 1970, 1986, and 2026.

CANADA: FIRST MEN'S WORLD CUP HOST
Canada has never hosted a men's World Cup before. That changes in 2026. Two cities share the honour: Toronto and Vancouver. Toronto's BMO Field sits in a vibrant, multicultural city where fans from every background cheer together. Vancouver offers stunning mountain views and a waterfront stadium atmosphere that feels like a postcard. Canadian football has grown fast. The national team returned to the World Cup in 2022 and now gets to play on home turf in 2026. Young fans across the country will see the world's best players in their own backyard. Cold weather in some months and warm summer evenings in others give Canada a unique flavour. Host cities will celebrate with maple flags, poutine, and the kind of friendly welcome Canada is famous for. This is Canada's big moment on the global football stage.
⚡ CANADIAN FIRST
Canada hosted the women's World Cup in 2015, but 2026 is the first time the men's tournament comes to Canadian soil.

THE ROAD TO THE FINAL
Comic panel titled from azteca to new york, labelled the road to the final, from the KnowComic World Cup 2026 lesson on three hosts, one dream
FROM AZTECA TO NEW YORK
Sixteen cities across three countries tell one story. Mexico opens the tournament with history and noise at the Azteca. The USA spreads matches from sea to shining sea, with Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta bringing southern heat and Atlanta's electric crowds. Canada adds Toronto's diversity and Vancouver's scenery. Every city offers something different: tacos in Mexico City, jazz in New Orleans vibes in southern cities, maple pride in Toronto. But every road leads toward one destination: the final at MetLife Stadium near New York. On that night, two teams walk out before a global TV audience of billions. Confetti falls. A captain lifts the golden trophy. Three nations worked together to make it happen. Fans who travelled thousands of miles and fans who walked from nearby neighbourhoods share the same goosebumps. That is the magic of World Cup 2026: three hosts, sixteen cities, one dream.
⚡ THE FINAL
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey hosts the 2026 World Cup final on July 19, 2026, with New York City's skyline as the backdrop.
