Carnotaurus sastrei is one of the weirdest big meat-eaters ever found. Its name means "meat-eating bull" because of two thick horns above its eyes. Scientists named it in 1985 after a nearly complete skeleton from Patagonia in Argentina. It lived in the Late Cretaceous of South America, roughly 72 to 69 million years ago. Adults stretched about 7 to 8 metres long and stood taller than a person at the hip. With its short, deep skull and horned face, Carnotaurus looked nothing like T. rex or Allosaurus.
