A fruit is the part of a flowering plant that holds seeds. Plants do not make sweet fruit just to please us. They pack sugar, colour, and smell into ripe fruit so animals will eat it. When a bird or monkey swallows the flesh, the hard seeds often pass through unharmed. Later, droppings land far away with a tiny pile of natural fertiliser. That is seed dispersal, and it helps plants grow in new places.
