NOT ONLY RAIDERS
When people say Viking, they often picture horned helmets and endless battle. Real Norse life was wider than that. Many Vikings were farmers, fishers, craft workers, and traders who sailed from Scandinavia to trade furs, iron, and silver. Their shallow longboats could beach on rivers and coasts, so they reached Britain, Ireland, France, and far beyond. Raids did happen, especially in the early Viking Age, but so did towns, farms, and family life.
⚡ DID YOU KNOW?
Museum helmets from the Viking Age do not have horns. Horned helmets are mostly a later costume myth.
