📏 COUNTING TO 100: THE LINE
TOPIC 05 · 1–100 · ORDER · SEQUENCE
PAGE 1 OF 5, A LINE IS A PROMISE
ORDER
Number line stretching from zero to one hundred showing order of numbers
RIGHT = MORE, LEFT = LESS
Draw a straight line, pick a starting tick (often 0), and march to the right with equal spaces between neighbours. That picture is a number line: it shows the order of whole numbers in a way your eyes can trust. Counting to 100 is the same rule repeated: each next number is exactly one more than the one before, the successor idea. There is no biggest in the full line, but one hundred is a classroom finish line: two digits, three sounds in English ("one, hundred"), and a satisfying round box to open in your head.
📍 SPACING
On a standard whole-number line, the gap from 7 to 8 is the same size as from 97 to 98, one step, every time.
