Poseidon is one of the great Olympian brothers. After Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades defeated the Titans, myth says they drew lots for the world. Drawing lots means they used chance to choose their realms. Zeus took the sky. Hades took the underworld. Poseidon took the sea. From that moment the oceans, storms, and deep creatures answered to him. Sailors prayed before trips because the sea could give a safe wind or smash a ship. Poseidon was never a quiet god.
