HERACLES, OFTEN CALLED HERCULES
In Greek myth his name is Heracles, which means glory of Hera, even though the queen of the gods did not enjoy his birth story. His father was Zeus and his mother was a human queen named Alcmene, so he was born with extra strength and a big destiny. Hera sent snakes into his cradle when he was a baby, and the tiny hero squeezed them until they went still. That early tale tells you the kind of life he would lead: huge danger, huge courage, and trouble from jealous powers.
