Robert Cialdini spent years studying how skilled persuaders get people to say yes. He wrote the famous book
Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, first published in 1984. Cialdini found six core principles that show up again and again: reciprocity, scarcity, authority, social proof, liking, and commitment/consistency. They are not magic spells. They are normal human shortcuts that advertisers, politicians, and salespeople know very well.
